Palm Springs Kennel Club 2023

ree

Hello to our dog show fans. 🤩 We had a great weekend at the Palm Springs Kennel Club 2023 this weekend! On Sunday, January 08, Gavin ("IntCH GCHB Royal's Greatest Love Story SEN SCN SBN FDC CGC NW1") was awarded Best of Breed by Judge Mr. Butch Schulman from Lexington, KY. The Variety Groups were televised live on AKC.TV and recordings can be viewed. If you want to see us show, go to Sunday's Herding Group event. If you'd like to skip straight to Gavin's examination, it is around the 16:00 minute marker. It was great fun to be out there with him. I am so proud of Gavin. We hadn't been at a show in awhile. We have just been home goofin off with puppies. For us to come home with a best of breed at the Palm Springs KC show is an accomplishment for me to cherish forever. The forecast was initially grim with rain and wind, but the weather was gorgeous, clear, around 68 degrees.

On Saturday, January 07, Gavin was awarded Grand Champion Select Dog, and Best of Breed Owner Handler by Judge Mrs. Danelle M. Brown from Georgetown, TX.

In the herding variety group, Gavin performed well. We had fun even though I was freezing cold! (Herding group was around 6:00 pm. We did not get any group placements this time. Lil Miss Moxie was entered, but there were not enough entries to make a major win, so she stayed home.

I was fortunate enough to put my foot in a couple other breed rings this weekend. Thank you to my friends that trust me to help them with their amazing dogs. I showed the beautiful, Emmy, the Clumber Spaniel, for my friends Jamie Rucker and Joanne Hutchins. I also got to show a Rough Collie for my friend, and professional handler, Jessica Baldwin. I love having the opportunity to show other breeds. It helps me learn more to become a better handler for my own dogs.

Hanging out with my clumber friends at the specialty, traveling and lodging together, and making fun memories. I had a great time. If you want a good laugh watch Saturday's Sprting Group broadcast. You'll see "Tucker", the Clumber Spaniel, leave his mark. 😂

I am so grateful for my husband, Andy's support, and love through this journey. I could not do this without him. I'm thankful for my health, and the ability to go to shows and events with my amazing dogs. Thank you for everyone in my life that makes all of it possible and supports us. Dogs give us so much that I just really want to give to them, and share smiles with you all.

We are back home safe and sound, and we are simply resting today. Thank you to all the judges, and huge congratulations to all the winners. There were some incredible dogs there this weekend, and it is so good to see the quality!!!!
